I want to apply for UCAS, what do I do?

Maktab Duli is a recognised UCAS centre. Therefore we strongly advise you to apply for UCAS through us as we will be the one who will provide you with your reference.

However you need to help us to se we can help you.

Step One
Make sure you have completed FORM A and FORM B.
Your Personal Statement needs to be checked by your Higher Education Adviser. It it worthwhile showing this to others as well to ensure you get different perspectives on how you appear in your Personal Statement.

Step Two
Once you have shown Form A, Form B and your Personal Statement to your HEA, she will then give you a BUZZWORD, a list of instructions and you then need to register your name in our record file and fill in the 'Request for Academic Reference' Form.

Step Three
You can now go to UCAS, click 'Apply', and Register under the UCAS system. Once you've entered your details you would need to enter the buzzword in order to register under the College.
Make sure you make note of your LogIn and Password!

Step Four
Enter your details, choices and PS. The final stage would be 'Send to Referee' where you will then have to make a credit card payment of 15pounds. We will check it in our system and if we see any mistakes WE WILL SEND IT BACK TO YOU WITH AN EMAIL TO TELL YOU TO MAKE AMENDMENTS. You will only have to pay once so dont worry about sending it back to us again.

Step Five
In the mean time we will be preparing your reference. Please give us a leeway of a maximum of 2-3 weeks as this is a very busy time for your Advisers. As soon as we send your application you should receive a Welcome letter from UCAS in about 2 weeks. Replies from universities will follow soon after.

Step Six
Please inform your counsellors which universities you have chosen and what path you have taken (UBD, Scholarship, etc). This way we can keep track of your progress as well as see the results from all our hard work!

Therefore make sure you do your research very thoroughly. Come and see your Adviser or make an appointment only after Saturday 7th February 2009.
