Didn't get the grades that you wanted?

As with all things, there are times when things don't just pan out the way you want them to.

But it's OK, it's not the end of the world.

If you have Two Cs and above, there's a good chance you can apply for a place to do your FIRST DEGREE at UBD, UNISSA and ITB, depending on your subject combination.

If you have at least ONE A LEVEL PASS (an A level pass is an A-E in any A level subject) look towards doing an HND in ITB or Overseas.

Take note that to do an HND overseas under the MOE scholarship, these are the requirements,
- Brunei Citizen
- 5 ‘O’ Levels including Bahasa Melayu
- ‘O’ Level English Language or IELTS 6.0
- 140 UCAS tariff points in 2 ‘A’ Levels

You can also apply for a scholarship to do a diploma where the requirements are,

- Brunei Citizen
- 6 ‘O’ Levels incl. Bahasa Melayu, Maths and 2 Sciences
- ‘O’ Level English Language or IELTS 6.0
- 80 UCAS tariff points or Grade C in 1 ‘A’ Level

You can retake your subjects in JUNE to boost your grades but please be reminded, Scholarship Unit looks at your grade IN ONE SITTING. You cannot choose your best grades over a period of Nov and June.

Those with 5 O level credits can try applying for a Diploma in Nursing/Midwifery at the Institute of Medicine in UBD.

You can also try looking at what Maktab Teknik Sultan Saiful Rijal has to offer. You need a minimum of 4 O level credits to enter. It's a longer route towards higher education but you will study at a more comfortable pace with a practical hands on approach. Check the HEU notice board for courses available at MTSSR.

Lastly dear students, please do not be discouraged, if there is a will, there is a way. You make your own fortune :)
