HECAS Reminder

Last week, on Thursday 26th February, the HEU welcomed officials from the Scholarship Unit and the Higher Education Section from the Department of Schools who came by to look into how HECAS was functioning in the college.

The students who happened to be doing their HECAS application and research in the library were quite lucky as they were able to ask their questions directly to the people who will handle their applications.

Important things we learnt during this visit were as follows,

If you are resitting for exams in June, you need to indicate this fact in your forms. You can note this down in the 'Other Examination Results' section.

If you are applying for a scholarship, it helps to also include which overseas Universities you have applied/are applying to.

For this year, you can ask for your HECAS form to be sent back to you by emailing admission@hecas.edu.bn . This is because they understand that the system is new and that it takes a bit of getting used to. However in the future they have indicated that they will not be so accomodating so do your research first before sending it in!

The deadline for HECAS is now 15th March 2009. Please sort out your applications BEFORE this!

On behalf of the College, HEU thanks Hj Azis and Dr. Teh for coming over and being involved in supporting and helping out the students. Thank you!
